PPA would like to take the opportunity to congratulate some of our members for their recent recognition by the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI) Awards of Excellence Program. Each year, IPMI recognizes organizations and professionals throughout our industry for their efforts to advance the parking and mobility industry. The program features those on the frontlines and behind the scenes who ensure each daily operation, special project, and new initiative goes beyond expectations.
This year’s winners include one of our most active member organizations, as well as one of our excellent board members:
Organization of the Year: Philadelphia Parking Authority
Organization of the Year recognizes organizations that demonstrate comprehensive operational excellence across a wide range of areas, including organizational culture, customer service, innovation, and more.
The Philadelphia Parking Authority is dedicated to implementing the latest parking, transportation, and mobility technologies to enhance user experience and improve efficiency. In recent years, the Parking Authority has implemented numerous initiatives and programs to achieve these goals and lead the city’s parking and mobility operations into the future. Their unique combination of responsibilities highlights their ability to manage the comprehensive nature of the changing industry, while integrating transportation and mobility initiatives.
Professional Excellence – Operations: Corinne O’Connor, Deputy Executive Direct, Philadelphia Parking Authority
The Professional Excellence Awards recognize the individual contributions of parking, transportation, and mobility industry professionals – our industry’s best.
Corinne O’Connor has served the Philadelphia Parking Authority for 30 years. She started her career as a Parking Enforcement Officer, and has worked her way up to now serve as the Parking Authority’s Deputy Executive Director. Corinne has led numerous major projects and initiatives for the organization, including the recent roll-out of the MeterUP mobile app, and the installation of new touch screen kiosks. She also spearheaded the strategic planning for the Authority’s ticketing and enforcement, and automation of the towing and booting process. Corinne serves on numerous committees, and is an active Board Member for the Pennsylvania Parking Association.
Congratulations again to these the Philadelphia Parking Authority and Corinne for these much-deserved honors. We are so thrilled to have them as a part of the Pennsylvania Parking Association.
